Our bilingual guide will accompany us for the next 2 hours, showing us the highlights and sharing historical information about this incredible archaeological site. Machu Picchu was strategically built in a remote and defensible location in the Tampu valley. It was designed as a refuge for the aristocracy in case of surprise attacks. The surrounding mountains and ravines provided natural protection. After the guided tour, you will have free time to rest, take photos, and explore on your own. We will then take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, a 30-minute ride offering panoramic views of the surroundings. Once in Aguas Calientes, you can enjoy lunch on your own and have the afternoon free to relax in the hot springs or stroll around the town. Remember to be at the station 30 minutes before your train departure to Ollantaytambo. From there, we will be waiting for you with a bus to take you back to Cusco, specifically to Plaza San Francisco. Finally, upon arrival in Cusco, the transfer to the hotel is at the passenger's expense. Don't miss the opportunity to live this unforgettable experience in one of the most fascinating destinations in the world: Machu Picchu.
