Itinerary

The Andean Wedding is an ancestral ceremony where a man and a woman wish to unite before the Apus (Andean gods) for posterity. The ceremony, activities, and food are scheduled in advance for better organization. The welcome includes dances and music, while the guests enjoy delicious Chicha and some appetizers. The bride and groom are prepared with traditional clothing and hairstyles, and then they proceed to the lagoon where the Traditional Andean Wedding Ceremony takes place before the Pachamama (Mother Earth) and Mama Cocha (Mother Lagoon). Blessings are asked from the Apus for the newlyweds. As a form of tribute and congratulations, families throw confetti, streamers, and yellow petals on the couple. Afterward, the participants enjoy a Pachamanca, Cuy (guinea pig), or Lechón (pork) as chosen. After some refreshing drinks, the celebration continues with dances and festivities.
