Itinerary

Early in the morning, we will pick you up from the hotel and head towards Cachora, located at 3,400 meters above sea level. Here, we will meet the team that will accompany us on our journey to CHOQUEQUIRAO. We will start our hike through Andean landscapes until we reach the Capuliyoq viewpoint (2,900 meters above sea level), from which we can see the distant Inca city of CHOQUEQUIRAO and the stunning Vilcabamba mountain range. We will continue our descent to our first campsite at Playa Rosalina (1,500 meters above sea level). Approximate hiking time: 7-8 hours Distance: 18 kilometers (11 miles) Meals: Lunch, Dinner, coca tea Maximum altitude: 2,900 meters above sea level (Capuliyoq viewpoint)

After breakfast, we will continue our adventure with an uphill hike to Santa Rosa (2,100 meters above sea level). After a brief rest, we will continue to Marampata (2,800 meters above sea level), where we will have lunch to regain energy and proceed to our second campsite at CHOQUEQUIRAO (3,035 meters above sea level). This day is considered the most challenging as most of the path is uphill. Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will have a guided tour of CHOQUEQUIRAO, an ancient Inca refuge. After an extensive tour of the main sectors of this impressive Inca city, we will return to Chiquisqa for our third campsite. This day’s hike is lighter as we will be descending the same path we took the previous day. We will start our hike early, returning to Cachora, where we began on the first day. Our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. Approximate hiking time: 5-6 hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
